Principle Function
• Responsible for providing leadership, developing direction, goals, planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive ministry for youth.

Specific Responsibilities
• Youth (teens), and Young Adults (college age)

To reach and develop the youth (12 yr. old -18) in and out of our church so that they may become more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and serve Him in the ministries of Mt. Olivet Church. This is to be done by means of a Bible class (home or Sunday School) and various other methods of personal discipleship and fellowship.

Other Responsibilities

Be actively involved in church services and applicable functions (as Elder Board deems necessary)
Be available to preach when Senior Pastor is absent.
Attend Church Committee Meetings
Elder Board
Church Council
Christian Education Executive Committee
Report monthly to Elder Board
Monthly Ministry progress report (shepherding reports)
Report year-to-date sick/vacation leave taken and current balance

 

Qualifications

I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9
Have a clear testimony of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ
Be a committed student of the Word of God with emphasis on an expositional approach
Be a man of prayer
Have a servant-leader attitude; be able to work as part of a team
Be able to develop relationships with teens, pointing them to Christ and discipling them.
Be dependable, loyal, creative, flexible, have a love for people, be loyal to the leadership and ministries of Mt. Olivet Church
Submit to a background check
Must meet qualifications for membership from Mt. Olivet’s Constitution, Article IV – Membership

Education/Experience

• Our preferred candidate would be a man with Bible training and a few years of church related experience.

Salary Information

Salary (based on experience + 1⁄2 Social Security)
Average 40-hour work week (20 hr. office) – Flexible five days (Sunday being one day) – Develop office schedule
Pay periods the 15th and 30th of each month
The church will pay your health care premium monthly (deducted from salary, if applicable)
The church will make a contribution of 4% (of salary) to the retirement plan of your choice.

 

 

 

 

Benefit Package (per Church Fiscal Year)

Receive an annual Love Offering where church members have the opportunity to show their support.
You will have a reimbursable account, up to $4,000 per calendar year. This can pay for costs associated with your ministry, example; cell phone, mileage, materials, etc. To be reimbursed, you will complete an expense form monthly, which the Elders will approve and forward to the Treasurer for payment.
6 Holidays (New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas)
If a holiday falls on a regular day off or on a Sunday, the holiday time will be taken within the first week following the holiday.
PTO will be based on experience and need.
General Information

Emergency Leave – communicate with Elder Board for approval
Any secondary employment needs to be reviewed by the Elder    Board to determine possible conflict with primary       responsibilities
Job description can change as the Elder Board deems fitting
