KANSAS CITY, Mo—Midwestern Seminary will be represented in 28 presentations at the 77th annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society in Boston, Massachusetts through various faculty members, graduates, and current Ph.D. students.
“I am grateful for another strong showing by Midwestern Seminary at this year’s ETS annual meeting,” said President Jason Allen. “It is always encouraging to see our faculty and students present papers at the annual and regional ETS meetings. Our representation continues to demonstrate that we are succeeding in producing scholar pastors and scholar teachers for the church.”
Commenting on the benefit of presenting a paper for doctoral students, Jason Duesing, provost of Midwestern Seminary, said, “This experience fortifies Ph.D. students as they seek to complete their program of study. It also provides further training in how to pursue evangelical scholarship—both to strengthen churches through the doctrinal formation of church leaders and to advance scholarship in specific areas that contribute to developing reliable resources for churches.”
Duesing went on to note that presenting at the Evangelical Theological Society provides all scholars the valuable benefit of sharing their research with peers and receiving constructive feedback.
