Biography
Samuel G. Parkison serves as Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology, Church History, and Philosophy at Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College, as well as oversees the honors program at Spurgeon College. Before returning to Midwestern Seminary, he served as Associate Professor of Theological Studies at Gulf Theological Seminary in the United Arab Emirates, teaching students from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Dr. Parkison is the author of several books, including The Fountain of Life: Contemplating the Aseity of God (Crossway), The Unvarnished Jesus: The Beauty of Christ and His Ugly Rivals (Christian Focus), To Gaze Upon God: The Beatific Vision in Doctrine, Tradition, and Practice (IVP Academic), and more.
He also served Midwestern Seminary previously as an adjunct instructor and associate professor of Christian studies. Dr. Parkison holds an M.Div., Th.M., and Ph.D. from Midwestern Seminary. He and his wife, Shannon, have four children and are grateful for the opportunity to return to Kansas City, a place they have long considered home.
