Biography

Peter Gurry joined the Midwestern Seminary faculty in 2025 and teaches courses in Greek language and New Testament literature. His academic interests range across the history and formation of the Bible, Greek grammar, and the history of New Testament scholarship. He has written for popular and academic outlets, published four books, and presented his research at conferences in the U.S. and Europe. He and his wife have six children and one cat. Before coming to Midwestern, he served as a pastor at Whitton Avenue Bible Church in central Phoenix. He has been known to enjoy cheap fast food, good typography, and a good Jack London story.
