Biography
Mark Clifton currently serves as the Executive Director of Replant at the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He also holds the position of Visiting Professor of Church Ministry at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. With extensive experience as a pastor, church planter, church revitalizer, mission strategist, coach, and mentor to emerging leaders. Clifton has planted and replanted numerous congregations throughout his career.
His professional background encompasses several significant leadership roles, including:
- Lead Mission Strategist for the Kansas/Nebraska Southern Baptist Convention
- Church Planter in Montreal, Quebec
- Southern Baptist National Church Planting Missionary for eastern Canada
- Director of Southern Baptist church planting initiatives west of the Mississippi
Since 1978, Clifton has dedicated himself to church planting, revitalization, and strategic mission leadership. He is the author of Reclaiming Glory and co-author of Rubicons of Revitalization. Additionally, he hosts the weekly “Revitalize and Replant” podcast.
Clifton holds degrees from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
He currently resides in Basehor, Kansas with his wife Jill. They have three
adult children and nine grandchildren.
