Faculty Q&A

I love Midwestern Seminary’s For the Church vision! It means that every book I assign, every lecture, every discussion—all that we do at Midwestern Seminary is for real-time, real-life ministry in the local church. Theology and spirituality are not meant to be studied in abstraction or pontification. We train and study to serve in the church, to carry out the “one anothers” in the New Testament, and make disciples of Christ to the ends of the earth.

It is a sacred privilege to sit with students and unpack the glorious implications of the gospel in all of life and ministry. Let’s enjoy Jesus together!

The strong desire for full-strength truth, the longing for a vibrant and biblical spirituality, and a commitment to serving Christ are a source of great encouragement. I can’t wait to see all of the church planters, pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders we get to train through Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College.
