Leslie Umstattd serves as Assistant Professor of Christian Education & Ministry to Women and Faculty Co-Coordinator, Ministry to Women Programs. She holds an Ed.D. from Midwestern Seminary, Masters of Marriage and Family Counseling and Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Alabama. She began working at Midwestern in 2010, and she and her husband have been part of the MBTS community since 2008.

Dr. Umstattd came to Midwestern with over 15 years of experience in education, most recently serving as senior learning strategist at Cerner. She is a pastor’s wife and has served as a volunteer women’s ministry director for the past 10 years at her local church—teaching Bible studies, writing curriculum, and planning annual women’s retreats. She also serves as a children’s ministry volunteer.

Dr. Umstattd is passionate about education and loves to see students grow in their understanding of God’s design in the teaching and learning process.

She and her husband, Rustin, have two daughters, Ashtin and Jordan.
