The MABC degree provides significant training in the principles and methods of biblical counseling, preparing students for service in local churches, biblical counseling centers, and wider ministry settings. The residential MABC satisfies all the necessary requirements to become an ACBC certified counselor. The Online MABC prepares students to pursue certification with ACBC. The MABC is not intended to prepare graduates for state licensure.

As a part of your application, we require official college transcripts, a pastoral recommendation, and a church endorsement to review your application for acceptance.

Get Accepted

Once we receive your completed application, we’ll review your application for acceptance. Typically, it will take less than 1–2 days to notify you of a decision.

Enroll in Classes

Once you are accepted, the next step is to enroll in classes. We have new classes starting every 4–8 weeks and are eager to help you pursue your calling.

Yes! The MABC is available fully online or on campus, allowing you to study for the Church while serving the church where you are.

In addition to providing all the necessary requirements for certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), this degree features several courses taught by ACBC staff. You will have opportunities to learn directly from them and establish relationships for your counseling ministry.

The best way to know for sure is to reach out to our Admissions Office! You may qualify to have up to two-thirds of your MABC credits granted on the basis of transfer credits. To be considered for transfer credit, courses must meet certain requirements.

Program Outcomes

Students graduating from the MA in Biblical Counseling degree program will be able to do the following:

  1. Evaluate secular and integrative counseling models based on biblical and historical perspectives.
  2. Interpret and apply Scripture to soul-care in local church and related settings using appropriate hermeneutical principles.
  3. Address the most common counseling problems and challenges of counseling using appropriate methods of biblical counseling.
  4. Formulate a personal strategy of biblical counseling for ministry in the local church.
