Thor Madsen serves as dean of Midwestern College and associate professor of New Testament, ethics and philosophy of religion. Madsen’s rich academic background prepared him for this uniquely varied faculty position. He was first a philosophy major at Wheaton College. From Wheaton, he went on to earn a Master of Arts in philosophy at Western Kentucky University and to spend a year in the doctoral program in philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With that base, he sensed God’s leading into biblical studies, and he enrolled at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he earned a Master of Divinity. He then went to the University of Aberdeen, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament in 1998.
