JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle
WEAG Membership required, attendance at weekly services, and active involvement in serving opportunities at West End Assembly of God
Passion for leading, developing and serving students
Strategic thinker with a proven ability to execute vision (systems mindset)
Proven ability to effectively collaborate with other areas of church ministry
Participate in the leadership and implementation of all-church events as necessary
Ordained or licensed minister with Assemblies of God or willing to pursue
Education B.A. required

 

General Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of weekly Youth Group (Talk, Leaders, Games, Worship)
Oversee weekly Bible Studies
Lead weekly Youth staff meetings
Lead visionary meeting (planning all upcoming events/potential events)
Oversee and lead Youth Staff and Volunteers
Oversee, lead, recruit, and train all Youth Leaders
Provide Pastoral Care for students and families
Manage/Create all youth spaces (atmosphere)
Create/Oversee/Lead Youth Leadership development
Communicate to any new or visiting families with Youth
Create/Oversee/Lead all Special Events for youth (6th – 12th grade)
(Social activities, Retreats and Camps, Outreach Projects, Senior Banquet/graduation, Fall Festival, GCN, Missions Trip, Parent Meetings, Youth Leader Meetings, various other church-wide and youth-specific events.)

 

Ministry:

Assist students in identifying their gifts/skills and help them connect with serving opportunities within Youth Ministry and WEAG as a whole or the broader community
Identify opportunities for Youth Ministry to participate in church-wide outreach events
Recruit, train, develop and empower adult volunteers (youth leaders) within Youth Ministries
Identify, develop and engage Middle and High School Student Leaders
Equip parents in order that they may connect more effectively with their students and lead their children in the knowledge and instruction of the Lord. Provide counseling/interventions as needed
Communicate with students/families about sermon series, vision, events, etc. on a regular basis (via email/newsletter)
Relational discipleship of students regularly OUTSIDE of service and church events (attend school functions, meet for coffee/lunch, have students over for dinner, visit students at their homes, etc.)

 

 

 

 

 

Youth Group (Main Weekly Service)

Create order or worship in Planning Center
Schedule Band/Vocalist in Planning Center
Prepare and Execute all elements of the Youth Group service (game, message, small groups, presentation slides, announcements, pre/post service hang out, etc.)
Equip youth leaders

 

Other Responsibilities

Fulfill general pastoral duties for WEAG such as weddings, funerals and congregational care as needed and directed
Participate in the leadership and implementation of all-church events as necessary
Develop an annual budget for Youth Ministry and manage expenses in accordance with the budget
Meet with your department pastor (Lisa Eggert) and your oversight pastor (Dave DeMasters) bi-weekly/as needed

 

This is a full-time position.

This is a general description of responsibilities as we work through a reorganization in our department. As you can imagine, it is not comprehensive, things are ever-changing, and flexibility is always needed.
