Full-Time Positions / Benefits-Eligible
Operations: Planning & Projects Specialist
Be responsible for the maintenance and overall upkeep of the facilities and grounds assigned, as well as the projects for the facilities organization.
Qualifications:
• Have a high level of communication, time management, and organizational skills with people and projects. Have good people and property management skills.
• Have electrical, heating and cooling, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical and minor construction skills. Show a desire and willingness to continue learning.
• Have the ability to lift 75 pounds and to be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day.
• Have a valid Driver’s License and must maintain insurability. Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
• Have three years of experience in building maintenance.
• Have two years in project management.
Men’s Ministries: Lead Overnight Shelter Manager
Monitor the facilities and the men, insuring that the property is safe and secure, insuring that the men are cared for adequately, and insuring that the policies and procedures of City Union Mission are consistently applied.
Qualifications:
• Preferably, be a minister, but will consider others. Must have experience in some form of supervision, in drug and alcohol counseling, and experience in Biblical counseling.
• Have the ability to follow procedures and guidelines. Have a high school diploma or GED (preferred).
Family Ministries: Overnight Security/Hotline/Shelter Manager
Meet the informational needs of all callers during non-business hours, especially with ministry to homeless persons seeking shelter. Help provide a safe environment for staff clients, and guests. Monitor building activities from the security booth and function as the shelter manager during the overnight hours.
Qualifications:
• Should have good people and property management skills. Exhibit leadership, good judgment, sensitivity, compassion, oral and written communication skills. Be well organized and demonstrate ability to delegate.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with the public. Must understand life safety, security, and emergency procedures.

Warsaw, MO: Director of Farm & Camp Operations & Ministries
Opportunity Farm is dual-focus ministry. The first focus is the Christian Life Program: a Christ-centered, Biblically-based, long-term drug and alcohol recovery ministry. The second focus is Camp CUMCITO: a Christian camping ministry of City Union Mission. This Director leads and oversees the Christian Life Program, Camp CUMCITO, along with all Farm and Camp facilities and grounds.
Qualifications:
• Be a born again, mature Christian able to clearly communicate the Gospel as opportunities during the work day arise. (1 Peter 2:21 and 1 Peter 3:15). Have solid Christian leadership qualities in keeping with the reputation of this ministry. Have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless and the poor of Warsaw with a compassionate heart.
• Preferably have a degree or experience in Biblical studies, social services, counseling or other related fields and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an upper management or leadership positions.
• Have experience with or training in Recovery issues.
• Have excellent computer skills. Have communication and organization skills with people and projects.
• Have experience with construction and the ability to learn new skills and earn certifications in maintaining all farm and camp facilities & equipment. Have skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance problems with facilities and equipment.
Family Ministries: Elementary Youth Coordinator
Provide spiritual leadership to elementary school students in the areas of spiritual, social, academic, and physical growth.
Qualifications:
• Have experience working with youth. Model Christ-like behavior and be able to lead others into spiritual maturity. Be able to share the Gospel with children in an age-appropriate manner.
• Be able to implement safety protocol. Be insurable as a Mission driver (clear driving record, age 21 or older).
• Have good communication and organizational skills with people and projects.
• Be a high school graduate or equivalent. College is desired or training and experience with urban youth / children related activities.
Family Ministries: Vanderberg Youth Center Activities Administrator
The Youth Department is a ministry within the Family Services. The purpose is to provide a stable, Christian environment and activities for low income youth in the surrounding metro communities.
The Administrator will promote a unified vision among all youth programs (policies, procedures, strategies, etc.), coaching and enabling VYC staff in effective implementation of related ministries:
• City Corps: Intensive discipleship/mentoring program for 32 students ages 7-17. The goal is to help students become more Christ-Like in their communities by investing not only in them but in the systems that surround them.
• Chapel: Shelter, NLP children are invited to come and hear about the Good News of Jesus, play games, and meet new friends.
• City Camp: Week long summer day camp experience that fosters spiritual, educational, life skills, recreational and character growth. Session begins after KCMO School District has ended for the summer and closes out the last week in July.
Qualifications:
• Have a heart and ability to minister to children. Exhibit leadership, good judgment, sensitivity, compassion, creativity, oral and written communication, and a high energy level.
• Hold a BA degree and experience in management and/or supervision for at least 3 to 5 years.
• Have experience in youth related ministries/social service/educational field.

Operations: Director of Projects & Facilities
Be responsible for the general oversight of all City-Side Mission owned properties and facilities, as well as properties or facilities the Mission has interest in. This includes scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and seeing to completion all necessary maintenance work to be done at the Men’s Center / Administrative Building facilities and grounds, and at other Mission owned or operated locations as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Have a BA or Technical School degree (diploma/certification) or 10 or more years’ experience in the facilities management or construction management field.
• Have a BA degree in management or administration or five or more years’ experience in the same.
• Be familiar with basic electrical, heating and cooling, refrigeration, plumbing, and minor construction skills. Have a willingness to continue learning.
• Exhibit a high level of communication, time management, and organizational skills with people and projects.
Medical Services: Medical Services Coordinator/Supervisor
Oversee and provide and coordinate medical services for all clients of the City Union Mission that will bring comfort, promote healing, and increase their knowledge of methods to maintain health, prevent illness, and when it is necessary, to seek medical attention.
Coordinate and oversee the medical side of Camp, including: recruiting volunteer doctors, medical students/nurses/nursing students for health screenings, overseeing the medical portion of Saturday Health Screenings, participating in Monday camper Send-Offs, and troubleshooting any issues that arise with the Camp Nurse.
Qualifications:
• Be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Have management skills and be computer literate.
• Exhibit excellent public relations skills.
Operations: CDL Driver
Assist supervisor with donated vehicles. Pick up and deliver people and materials for City Union Mission.
Qualifications:
• Must possess a valid CDL with passenger endorsement. Must have experience driving a dock high delivery truck. Have no tickets in three years and possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Certificate.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs., including furniture when needed.
• Have basic computer knowledge, be able to be bonded, and comply with all DOT requirements.

Part-Time Positions / Non-Benefits-Eligible
Medical Services: Seasonal City-Side Camp Registered Nurse
Aid in providing a safe camp experience for Camp CUMCITO children by assisting with all aspects of medical screenings. Start week of June 3 and end July 27. Saturdays & Mondays are mandatory from June 22- July 29. Hours: 20-30/week.
Qualifications:
• Have appropriate R.N. nursing degree and a minimum of two years of experience in nursing. Clinical experience is helpful.
• Have current certifications and continuing education. Be computer literate.

Family Ministries: PT Nursery Attendant
insure the well-being of children from six months old to kindergarten age whose parents or guardians are attending CUM Life Skills Classes, and other educational opportunities, or whose parents have a babysitting contract with another guest in the Family Shelter.
Qualifications:
• Be able to multi task and supervise 1 or 2 adults plus 1 to 20 children (count changes daily).
• Must be able to lift children who weigh 10 to 50 pounds. There will be lots of lifting, bending, and picking up children to carry them to the diaper changing table or crib as needed.
• Must be able to interact with the children, by getting on the floor and playing games with them.
• Must be able to take the children outside to the playground, push them on the swings, or put them on the slide. Must be able to maintain control over the children at all times and keep the noise at an acceptable level.

Family Ministries: PT Weekend Security/Hotline
Meet the informational needs of all callers during non-business hours, especially with ministry to homeless persons seeking shelter. Help provide a safe environment for staff clients, and guests. Monitor building activities from the security booth.

• Be able to work in fast-paced, emotionally-demanding environment.

Overnight: Monitor the facilities and the men, insuring that the property is safe and secure, insuring that the men are cared for adequately, and insuring that the policies and procedures of City Union Mission are consistently applied.
Qualifications:
• Preferably be a minister, but will consider others. Have a strong Biblical foundation and be equipped to share the Gospel at any point with guests.
• Have knowledge of drug and alcohol abuse (preferred). Have experience in drug and alcohol counseling and Biblical counseling.
• Have an ability to enforce all policies firmly and compassionately. Have basic computer skills.
Men’s L Minor Care Center: PT Evening & Overnight Shelter Manager
Ensure orderly procedure in all areas of the LMCC Shelter ministry and among the men in the LMCC and their activities.
Qualifications:
• Must have a heart for the homeless, experience in some form of supervision, some experience in drug and alcohol counseling, experience in Biblical counseling. Preferably be a minister, but will consider others.
• Must be able to deal tactfully and work well with people. Exhibit good judgment, sensitivity, compassion, oral and written communication skills, motivational skills, and demonstrate the ability to teach.
• Be able to perform job with compassionate accountability and orderliness. Have good organizational skill and the ability to keep accurate records—computer skills are a must.
• Have a work history indicating good work ethic—including but not limited to—proper attitude in the workplace, respect for authority, good attendance, and knowledge of the corporate structure in which they worked.

• Have a high school diploma or GED (preferred). Must be familiar with office equipment and operations and be computer literate. Have or agree to get a CDL license within three months of hire date to be reimbursed by CUM.
• Exhibit good judgment, sensitivity, a demonstrable background of neatness, accuracy and dependability. Must be able to deal tactfully with the public. Must be able to work in a fast paced, emotionally demanding environment.

Assure, through diligently following procedures, that the CLC is a safe place for all who are therein, that the conduct of all members is appropriate, and that there is a godly and wholesome atmosphere throughout and around the facility.
Qualifications:
• Have a demonstrable background of spiritual maturity, sensitivity and compassion, as well as demonstrate compassionate orderliness. Must the ability to help men in recovery and be an intentional discipler.
• Exhibit good judgment, sensitivity, a demonstrable background of neatness, accuracy and dependability. Must be able to deal tactfully with the public. Training/certification in First-Aid and CPR is preferred.
• Must be familiar with office equipment and operations and be computer literate.
