The Student Minister at Shearer Hills Baptist Church is responsible for the development and implementation of the Student Ministry (grades 6-12) in order to effectively help students and families learn about and experience the love of God, grow in personal faith and actively participate in sharing the Gospel.
The Student Minister will:
- Provide vision, leadership, planning and implementation of all facets of Student Ministry (weekly and annual events) for the purpose of reaching lost students, growing students in spiritual maturity and discipleship, and engaging students to serve within the church family, our community and the world.
- Recognize and encourage growth of individual student skill sets.
- Create a welcoming, safe and comforting environment for students to thrive.
- Teach Biblical truths to students in applicable ways.
- Interact with other SHBC ministries by involving students with other ministries.
- Recruit, train, lead and manage Student Ministry volunteers.
- Oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum and programming.
- Manage Student Ministry budget and finances, policies, and facilities/equipment.
- Utilize effective communication to keep students, staff, volunteers and parents informed.
- Offer pastoral care and encouragement to students, parents, and volunteers.
