Senior Pastor

We are prayerfully seeking a full-time senior pastor, who is ordained by God, to lead us through preaching the whole counsel of God, according to His Word. We desire our pastor to believe in, affirm, and support the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We seek a pastor who strives to meet the Biblical qualifications for an elder/overseer as stated in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9. Our pastor would abide by our church constitution and bylaws which are congregationally governed.

While we don’t require a Master’s Degree in Divinity or Theology, some ministry experience is preferred. We are a small church of repentant, professing believers with an average of 60 people attending Sunday Worship. We have a small praise team that blends traditional hymns with contemporary songs. Our current pastor has been shepherding our congregation for 14 years.

Expectations for our senior pastor include organizing and leading the worship service, as well as preaching the Sunday morning sermon each week. We want him to be a soul-winner and to lead and train the congregation in ministry to the sick and homebound. He should also be part of Bible Study, AWANA, and Vacation Bible School.

Marshall is a growing rural community of 3,114 people in Northern Fauquier County, with easy access to Interstate 66. We are only 50 miles west of Washington, D.C. The church and parsonage are within walking distance of the downtown Marshall area with a mix of shops, fast food, diners, and elegant restaurants.

Candidates should provide:

  • Written statement of faith, your salvation experience, and your belief in baptism, including your call to the Ministry
  • An updated resume
  • Three references who have seen you serve in ministry and can give an account of your spiritual gifts
  • Three or more digital uploads of recent preaching and/or teaching
