Pastor for Worship and Media or Outreach
Calvary Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC
Position Status: Full-time
Regular Work Hours: With flexibility, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, while also being present at weekly ministry services and practices.
Wages: Salary Package to be determined in relationship to the candidate.
Accountable To: The Lead Pastor & Pastoral Team (team is run by way of plurality and consensus)
Accountable For: Those serving in the music, technology, and outreach or media teams. He will be responsible for appropriate selection and establishment of these individuals in the ministry and overseeing them for the duration of their participation in the ministry.
Position Overview:
Responsible for all music, service elements, and technology for services, along with either our media presence (website, social media) or vision, leadership, and energy towards engaging our community with the Gospel.
Responsibilities Overview:
In addition to the weekly pastoral team responsibilities, these are the specific ministry areas that he would shepherd and oversee here at Calvary Baptist Church:
Music Ministry
- Select all congregational music in coordination with the Lead Pastor for all worship services.
- Shepherd the music portion of each service in connection with the praise team and existing volunteer leaders.
- Schedule and shepherd all lead praise teams.
- Schedule and oversee special music arrangements.
- Provide weekly music for volunteers in the music ministry.
- Coordinate music and A/V for all special events (funerals, weddings, etc.).
- Oversee the Technology Team in conjunction with the tech deacons and other ministry leaders.
Option #1: Media Oversight
- Oversee the regular updating and refreshing of the website.
- Oversee all social media by coordinating postings so that it is up-to-date and “on brand.” This includes Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube primarily.
- Assist with the production of any audio or video needs of the pastoral team (e.g., podcasts, weekly videos, announcement videos). We hope to generate more biblical content for our people via video and podcasts.
- Coordinate with graphic designers to make sure services, events, and social media have correct and excellent graphics.
Option #2: Outreach Ministry Oversight
- Provide vision, leadership, and energy toward engaging our community with the Gospel.
- Foster and encourage a culture of evangelism in our congregation.
- Creatively develop new strategies and initiatives to bring the Gospel to our community.
