Office Assistant – Financial Services – Part Time

JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to the Financial Services team with general administration, inter-office communication, customer service, and ad hoc projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide office support, answering phone, filing, copying, digitizing, and providing general information to staff and students.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating student accounts when the Authorization to Hold forms are completed
  • Process daily distribution of Nelnet payments
  • Process scholarship batches
  • Maintain records for bookstore student vouchers
  • Assist Financial Services Cashier with money management duties
  • Scan and save related files according to established office policy and procedures.
  • Sort through the Financial Services team email and forward to the appropriate personnel for further action and follow up.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Including, not limited to:
  • Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
  • High school graduate or equivalent, required
  • One year general office experience, preferred
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Able to work well with others, and independently
  • Desire and willingness to learn
  • Ability to leverage technology to streamline work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Shared office environment
  • Monday Friday, 8 AM 4:30 PM office hours
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Approximately 20 – 25 hours per week.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
