JOB PURPOSE
To capture and communicate the Midwestern Baptist Seminary and Spurgeon College (Midwestern) stories through audio, photography and video in a creative, timely, and accurate manner. The Institutional Relations Division’s mission is to attract and recruit new students, engage and retain current students, and deepen affinity and loyalty among alumni, donors, and friends. The Communications Department is an integral part of this work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Photography – Capture and edit high quality photos from events and for marketing
- Maintain an up-to-date library of photography assets for marketing materials
- Take faculty and staff headshots quarterly or as needed
- Provide coverage for conferences and events
Video Resources – Create and edit videos for marketing and promotion
- Assist with scheduling, set-up, tear down, and filming at productions both on-site and offsite
- Assist in creation of new advertisements, story boarding, filming, and the post-production where needed
- Edit and deliver video resources and stories for Midwestern and Spurgeon College
Podcast Production – Assist with the production of various podcasts
- Provide support for engineering, recording, editing and publishing podcast episodes
Conference and Event production – Assist with live and post-production of conferences and events
- Assist with the production of events and conferences (FTC National, Ready, 9Marks, and other events and lectures)
- Manage and maintain Banquet Hall events
- Help recruit and work with AV volunteers
- Help with setup and teardown
Chapel Production – Assist with the production of Chapel services
- Knowledge of the technology used in chapel (Cameras, Switchers, Lighting, and Sound)
- Working and partnering with AV volunteers
- Pre and Post Chapel
- Setting up for band, creating graphics for livestream, and setting up Pro-Presenter
- Setup for classes or events
- Closed captioning and text edit
- Editing and posting chapel videos
Gear Maintenance – Assist with managing and maintaining gear for AV (cameras, lighting, audio)
- Keep gear organized and in their proper place
- Work with team production schedules to make sure gear is not double-booked
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Including, however not limited to:
- Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
- Must submit a portfolio of previous work with application
- Exhibit knowledge of photo, audio and video editing software, preferably Adobe Creative Cloud
- Able to carry camera gear while capturing b-roll footage
- Successful completion of no less than one (1) year undergraduate education
- Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
- Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
- Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess a positive attitude
- Able to show a desire and willingness to learn
- Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
- Eligible to work in the United States
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. No more than twenty-nine (29) hours per week
- Shared professional office environment
- Flexible hours to be determined based upon office needs. Hours to be discussed and scheduled no less than one week prior
- Occasional evening or weekend events such as conferences or student events
- May be required to work outside in various weather environments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently required to sit or stand at desk or computer station
- May be required to stand, walk, squat, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to carry equipment and equipment bags over distances, in and outdoors
- Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
