Discipleship Minister
DEPARTMENT: Senior Staff
SUPERVISED BY: Senior Pastor
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Discipleship Minister is responsible to plan, promote, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of discipleship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the church in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive program of Christian discipleship.
- Serve as discipleship resource person and advisor to Sunday School, Small Group, Discipleship Group, and Equip Class leadership including assisting them in choosing curriculum
- Inform and lead the church to be aware of the latest trends in Christian discipleship.
- Create and oversee discipleship opportunities such as retreats, studies, events, etc. for various age groups. This would include things like parenting and marriage conferences, Winter Bible Study, Fall Reset.
- Guide in the designation, enlistment, and training of lay leadership for Sunday School, Small Groups, Discipleship Groups, and Equip Classes.
- Work with other ministry staff in planning the calendar of church activities and coordinating ministry endeavors. Specifically, work with missions’ ministry to help provide a balanced approach to missions and discipleship.
- Maintain an adequate system of records for attendance, follow up, and assimilation.
- Plan, promote, and execute quarterly small group fellowships.
- Assist ministry staff in planning, promoting, and executing annual ministry fair.
- Plan, create, and submit an annual budget for all assigned programs and organizations.
- Coordinate and provide leadership to assigned ministry staff including Children, Student, and College ministry staff, committees, programs, and ministry organizations, including both men’s and women’s ministry.
- Perform ministry duties along with other staff members, including hospital visits, and new member prospect visitations. Participate in all staff meetings.
- Personally, be engaged in discipleship of church members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Discipleship Minister must be able to give a clear salvation testimony and evidence of God’s call to ministry. The Discipleship Minister must humbly live a life above reproach, live with integrity, and walk in wisdom and discernment. Discipleship Minister must have a passion and proven track record of personal evangelism and disciple making. Discipleship Minister will be in full agreement with our statement of faith.
