Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Discipleship

Immanuel Baptist Church, of Beulah ND, is seeking an Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Discipleship to oversee and provide structure for the spiritual growth of youth and families; with the purpose of discipling them as active followers of Jesus Christ who love people.

Job Requirements:

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, modeling faith in daily lifestyle and a commitment to prayer.
  • Consistent spiritual and moral character, and a lifestyle complying with biblical leadership qualifications as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:6-9.
  • 2 years of Bible training; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • To be heartily in agreement with the NAB statement of faith and the IBC church covenant found on the church website [www.ibcbeulah.com]
  • A passion and calling to student ministry and discipleship with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth and/or families.
  • To be a student of Scripture with the ability to teach and preach the Word of God.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a ministry team.
  • Relational maturity and a personable communication style.
  • Competent technology and organizational skills for the purposes of communication and presentation.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Organize, oversee, and be the primary leader/teacher for all middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) ministries, including (but not limited to): Sunday School, large group meetings, small group bible studies, social events, morning prayer at schools, and outreach events/mission trips.  Engage students outside of church when possible (e.g., extracurricular activities, sports events, etc.).
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for children’s and youth ministries.
  • Equip parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children, and train them to know how to share the Gospel with their children.
  • Make disciples of students who can become disciple-makers.
  • Work with the Youth Action Committee (YAC), who are a group adult volunteers who meet regularly to help plan and support ministry to grades 6-12.
  • Function as a member of the ministry team; accountable to the Senior Pastor and Elder Board, with the ability to preach 4-6 times annually.
  • Represent youth and family ministries to the Elder Board, IBC Board, and the greater church family.
  • Maintain a schedule that allows for stated office hours, preparation time, planned events, as well as other interaction with students. Maintain a policy of safety and protection in opposite gender contacts (e.g. the rule of three).
  • Be present at junior high and high school Crystal Springs Baptist Summer Camps.
