Associational Mission Strategist

Heart of Kansas Southern Baptist Association (Wichita, KS)

 

The Heart of Kansas Southern Baptist Association is composed of 50+ churches in the greater Wichita area. Our current Associational Mission Strategist is retiring after 16 years of faithful service. We are now beginning the search for his replacement.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and cultivate strong relationships with pastors, church planters, churches, and lay leaders in the association.
  • Steward well the high level of trust and camaraderie that exists among the pastors and churches of our association.
  • Promote kingdom-minded partnerships in the association and beyond (e.g. state convention, SBC, etc.).
  • Provide assistance in the planting of new churches and the revitalization of plateaued and declining churches.
  • Assist pastors and churches in the various challenges of church life (i.e. be a pastor to pastors).
  • Lead the various pastor cohorts that meet each month.
  • Preach the Word (i.e. supply preaching).
  • Provide helpful training opportunities for pastors and lay leaders.
  • Assist HOKSBA committees in accomplishing their tasks.
  • Oversee the HOKSBA office, staff, and budget.

  • Track record of helping to raise up healthy pastors and churches
  • Member of a local church within the HOKSBA
  • Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000

Preferences:

  • At least 10 years of ministry experience (lead pastor experience preferred)
  • Someone who is local (i.e. known in and around HOKSBA, our state convention, etc.)
