About:

The Pastor is responsible for leading the church to function as a Southern Baptist Church. He will lead the congregation, the church organizations and ministries, and the church staff in the performance of their assigned duties.

He will work with the deacons and church staff to: Lead the church in the achievement of its mission, Proclaim the gospel, administer the church ordinances and exercise watch-care over the spiritual life of the church, Minister to the church members and other persons in the community including visitation, weddings, funerals, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Possess communication skills to effectively preach the Gospel.
  • Plan and lead Sunday services.
  • Maintain regular office hours, receive ministerial phone calls, lead staff meetings, oversee worship services and other ministerial responsibilities.
  • Lead in areas of discipleship development, new member orientation, ministry counseling, pastoral care, prayer focus, and other efforts of spiritual development as needed.
  • Able to recruit, teach, train, spiritually support and effectively supervise volunteers for adult small groups and adult ministries within the church.
  • Assist in the development and organizational structures of the Sunday School Program. Recruitment and training of teachers, monitoring of individual and group development and outreach programs for each class would be included.
  • Assist in the development of senior adults and their particular spiritual needs, growth and encouragement in dealing with issues specifically related to senior adult.
  • Shepherd Children and Youth leaders to ensure biblically sound discipleship for young families. Provide assistance to volunteers in this are when needed.
  • Fulfill administrative duties including, but not limited to, ensuring the operational readiness of the church through direct oversight/supervision of the support staff performing duties in administration, finance, human resources, supply facilities management, etc.
  • Meet weekly with staff members to ensure a strong working relationship and mutual support through open communication and dialogue.
  • Other areas of responsibility as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification for all pastors are found in 1 Timothy3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
  • Accept and practice the statements of faith as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.
  • Be an ordained minister of the gospel with a degree, preferably a Master’s from an accredited Southern Baptist Seminary.
  • Be an active member in good standing of a Southern Baptist Church.
  • Previous pastoral experience.
  • Total compensation package $70,000.
