Works closely with: Associate Worship Pastor, AccessAbility Pastor
Reports to: Family Discipleship Pastor
Direct Staff Oversight: None
Schedule/Time Expectation: Maintain appropriate weekday office hours (GPC offices open 8:30a-4:30p M-Th), Student gathering times, as well as full Sunday responsibilities. Additional hours may be required.

Purpose:
The Student Pastor role exists to: Work with the GPStudents Team to lead, develop, encourage, and equip students as it relates to the purposes of Grace Point Church.
Grace Point Church exists to: Be an authentic church for those who have given up on the church but not on God.

Tasks:

  • Transformation: Model for GPC members the life of a disciple of Christ through personal growth and holiness, tithing and sound stewardship, biblical “One Another” relationships and moral and ethical conduct.
  • Community: Develop intentional relationships so that you are living well in biblical community. Possess a servant-leader and mentoring attitude.
  • Ministry: Enlist, equip and inspire our members to discover their spiritual giftings and mobilize them into consistent essential ministries.
  • Worship: Actively participate in collective Sunday responsibilities so that GPC offers meaningful, Spirit-filled worship experiences for our attenders.
  • Outreach: Model missional living and engagement in NWA through intentional and personal participation in the community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure spiritual growth and development of students, grades 7th – 12th
  • Exercise creativity in designing new and innovative ways for students to learn about life in Christ and grow in the values of the Christian faith
  • Work with GPS team to create and lead programs that resonate with students
  • Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of church programs
  • Develop and empower volunteers to lead out in student ministry
  • Identify and help execute innovative, yet biblically sound gathering times for students
  • Work with GPS team to develop and maintain strategic outreach efforts to students and parents in the community
  • Ensure regular follow-up to families with youth-aged children
  • Develop relationships with area junior high and senior high campuses in Northwest Arkansas

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in GPStudent Team meetings
  • Join with team to maintain GPS budget
  • All staff members should plan to participate in church wide events and lend their assistance and support to the total church programs
  • Serve on rotation as On-Call Pastor

Qualifications:

  • Solid commitment to Jesus Christ and His church; a growing knowledge and profession of the Christian faith
  • Genuine love for people of all backgrounds, demographics and current situations
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive attitude with young students in the church
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to grow and adapt to the inevitable changes found in a growing local church
  • Strong Team Player, defined by being humble, hard-working, and people smart
  • Teachable spirit
