Job Title: Director of Family Ministries
Direct Report: Lead Pastor
Position Status: FT
Position Summary:
The Director of Family Ministries oversees and provides leadership for the following ministries: preschool, children, and youth; with a particular emphasis in youth ministry. He will work under the direction of the Lead Pastor and in collaboration with the church staff to carry out the mission and vision of Gateway Fellowship. Gateway Fellowship believes that Christian parents are the primary disciple-makers of their children; and that local church leadership comes alongside parents to equip them for this biblical duty.
Qualifications:
- Displays a growing relationship with Christ through spiritual disciplines.
- Meets the character qualities set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
- Affirms the doctrinal statement of Gateway Fellowship (BF&M2k).
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree w/ Bible emphasis (seminary degree preferred).
- Demonstrates a track record of spiritual leadership in his personal, family, and church life.
- Exhibits a conviction to expository preaching.
Responsibilities:
- Faithfully gathers with Gateway Fellowship on Sunday mornings.
- Participates in weekly staff meetings and other training.
- Provides shepherding care over all family ministries (youth, children, preschool).
- Preaches/teaches in youth ministry (Wednesday nights, Sunday AM Bible Study).
- Cultivates a culture of discipleship within youth ministry: students, volunteers, and parents.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes youth ministry activities within the vision of church staff.
- Facilitates communication to parents about upcoming events and/or learning opportunities.
- Oversees youth ministry budget.
- Preaches for corporate gatherings as needed.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
