Senior Pastor

Friendship Baptist Church in Weatherford, Texas, is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to lead us in equipping the saints for the work of service, for the building up of the body of Christ.

We are an SBC church, affiliated with the SBTC, more than 100 years old, debt-free, and in a rapidly growing and changing area (the DFW area, specifically between Weatherford and Springtown).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the church in congregational prayer, effective discipleship, unity of spirit, and strategic mission involvement both locally and globally
• Shepherd the church using Biblical preaching, loving relationships, clear communication and effective leadership

Qualifications:

• Be, as required in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, a man above reproach, humble, gentle, and self-controlled
• Possess administrative and managerial skills – he will serve as preacher, minister, administrator and fellow-believer
• Possess flexibility and strategic vision, as the area in which we are located is experiencing a transition from rural to suburban character – from cow pasture to subdivision
• Be licensed and ordained
• Hold a master’s degree from a Southern Baptist (or like-minded) seminary
• 5+ years vocational ministry experience
