First Baptist Nixa is seeking a Pastor of Worship and Media. The position is full-time; proposed salary and benefits are commensurate with the position and the experience of the candidate.

About:

We are seeking a candidate to become an integral part of our pastoral team, contributing to our shared mission. We are seeking a mature, gifted, and godly leader to join us in growing the church in the grace and knowledge of Christ. This multifaceted position will involve an array of responsibilities, including leadership of the worship ministry, leadership of the media ministry, pastoral ministry, and various other ministries consistent with the candidate’s gifting and passion.

Specific Responsibilities:

A core component of our church is the Sunday worship gathering, when the church gathers for word-centered worship. We are seeking a pastor to lead us in the corporate singing of psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, sincerely and joyfully exhorting one another with biblical truth and glorying in this truth ourselves. We pursue a balanced blend of ancient and modern worship styles, with Scriptural and theological truth preeminent in the selection of songs. We further pursue musical excellence, believing that it honors God when we hone our gifts through preparation and practice. The ideal candidate, therefore, will have a strong biblical and theological foundation in the Reformed evangelical tradition, extensive musical knowledge and gifting, a sincere and joyful demeanor in worship leading, and the ability to lead, manage, and elicit the best out of both our worship team and our congregation. As our church continues to experience numerical growth, it will soon be necessary to host two worship gatherings on Sunday morning, and the ideal candidate will proficiently plan and lead both.

In today’s digital age, effective media management of both our worship gatherings and our online presence is essential. We are seeking a creative candidate with expertise in navigating the digital landscape in order to produce a compelling audio/visual environment during for the worship gathering and compelling video content that effectively communicates our message. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate that will be knowledgeable and passionate about creating and maintaining a compelling online presence across multiple digital platforms.

General Responsibilities:

First Baptist Nixa is passionate about pastoral ministry and biblical eldership. We are seeking a candidate with a genuine calling, gifting, and passion for personal pastoral care and biblical teaching. This includes regular one-on-one discipleship, regular small-group discipleship, and occasional public teaching. The Worship/Media Pastor will serve alongside the other elders in overseeing the ministry, missions, and membership of First Baptist Nixa.

At present, the needs of the worship and media ministry at First Baptist Nixa do not necessitate a full-time position. Therefore, the ideal candidate will possess a gifting and passion for another area of ministry that fills an existing need at First Baptist Nixa (e.g. biblical counseling, missions, discipleship, men’s ministry, family ministry, etc.). The details and parameters of this additional ministry component may be discussed with the elders during the interview process.

The full-time position will be approximately divided as follows: 50% dedicated to worship and media ministries, 25% dedicated to pastoral ministry, and 25% dedicated to additional ministry duties as determined by the elders.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree from an accredited seminary, or be able to demonstrate equivalent informal training in biblical or theological studies. He will be able to affirm our First Baptist Nixa Member Statement of Faith, as well as his substantial agreement with The Baptist Confession of Faith (1689). He will further be able affirm our First Baptist Nixa mission statement and core convictions. He will possess a strong work ethic, engaging interpersonal skills, humility and openness to correction, personal and professional integrity, and most importantly, a vibrant and growing relationship with Christ.

Compensation:

$50,000 – $60,000 base salary, depending upon qualifications and years of experience

$20,000 estimated benefits (health insurance, health-savings account contributions, retirement contributions)

$70,000 – $80,000 total salary + benefits package
