Position: Full Time Senior Pastor
Our congregation is looking for a Senior Pastor who will emphasize building relationships in which people are connected and care for one another, who leads through Evangelism and showing Jesus through words and action, Scripture, strengthening families, and lead by faith. His personality traits and lifestyle will exhibit loving and affectionate nature, humility and compassion. His skills and abilities will be strong Leadership, developing lay leaders and volunteers within the Church and excellent speaking skills and Preaching from God’s Word.

The First Baptist Church of Versailles, Missouri was organized on January 13, 1868. Some of the core values beliefs of First Baptist Church include: The Bible is God’s revelation of himself to humans, There is only one true God, God is the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. First Baptist Church loves sharing Jesus, through Friendship, Service and Love. The City of Versailles motto is where the prairie meets the hills. Versailles is the county seat of Morgan County. The Church is located in downtown Versailles close to the Morgan County Courthouse, Versailles City Hall and the Morgan County Justice Center. The Lake of the Ozarks is a 55,000-acre lake located 8 miles from Versailles with over 1,100 square miles of shoreline. The Versailles Old Tyme Apple Festival is a 2 day fall festival on the first weekend in October. Morgan County R-2 School District has approximately 1300 students in grades PreK thru grade 12. District programs include: A+ program, Adult Education, Gifted Education, Parent/Teacher Organization, Preschool, Special Education, and Booster Clubs.
Job Summary:
The Senior Pastor is one who is gifted and is called to church ministry, loves people, and has a passion for evangelism, outreach, and missions both personally and at the ministry level. He has a passion for the Word of God and desires to proclaim the Word of God with conviction and confidence always moving the congregation towards spiritual growth. He is missions minded and will lead the congregation to serve both locally and globally. The Senior Pastor is one who casts a vision for the ministries under his direction. He lives out the Great Commission by sharing the gospel boldly from the pulpit, by being in the community, and through one-on-one, loving relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferable from a Christian college or Seminary that is aligned with evangelical doctrine, with an emphasis in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Discipleship, Education or Church Leadership.
- Minimum of 3 years of pastoral experience as an Associate or Youth or Senior Pastor.
Expectations:
The Senior Pastor shall be the overseer of the Church. His duties shall be to:
- Preach the Gospel
- Lead and equip the congregation, the deacons, the committees and coordinating groups, ministries, and church staff to perform their tasks of engaging in worship, witness, education and ministry.
- Proclaim the Gospel to believers and unbelievers
- Care for the church’s members and other persons of the community.
- Encourage family worship and Bible study.
- Oversee the administration of the Church ordinances.
- Promote missions and afford opportunity for contributions.
Hours & Benefits:
- The Senior Pastor will be classified as a full-time employee. Salary will be based on experience and education.
