First Baptist Church of Medina

MEDINA the Town

Medina is an unincorporated town nestled in the Hill Country of Texas, about an hour west of San Antonio International Airport. Medina has restaurants, a local school district, an active volunteer fire department, the best public library in Texas, and an active social life for the 2500 people in the zip code. Other kinds of shopping and city life is just a simple drive in a couple of directions to Kerrville, Bandera, Boerne, or even Helotes.

Medina is a good place to raise a family; it’s safe, friendly, conservative, and in need of the gospel.

First Baptist Church

With over a hundred years of ministry, First Baptist is ready for the next chapter of our ministry. During COVID, the church dropped in attendance and morale, partly due to the times, and partly due to the death of our pastor. After a lengthy search process, God called our next pastor, during his time with us, the Lord has restored our morale and our desire to grow.

We have great access to the local school, the local library, and good relationships with many of the local businesses in the area. Our ministry is wide open for shaping and molding, but we need a shepherd to help mobilize the congregation to build lives that treasure Christ.

Senior Pastor the Position

Our next pastor needs to meet the qualifications that are lined out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:1-3.

Our next pastor needs to be proficient in handling the word, preaching verse by verse, and eager to lead the deacons and the congregation to fulfill the Great Commission.

Our next pastor needs to understand the nature of a small church, we average 40 in worship on Sunday mornings.

Our next pastor needs to recognize the nature of the hill country that people live a greater distance from one another unlike suburbs, and because of the ownership of livestock, usually there is gated access.

The package is salary plus a recently renovated parsonage with an amazing morning coffee view.

We are a conservative, Bible believing, gospel-hungry church who holds to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
