Head Pastor

First Baptist Church of Appleton City

First Baptist Church of Appleton City, MO is seeking a biblically inspired head pastor who holds to the Baptist Faith and Message, is biblically inspired, and has the discipleship skills to engage with our rural community of families.  FBC of AC is a traditional church in a small community with average Sunday morning attendance of eighty persons.  In addition to Sunday morning services, FBC of AC also holds Sunday school and Sunday and Wednesday evening bible studies.

Qualifications:

  • A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to spiritual growth, demonstrating spiritual leadership abilities, and commitment to living our biblical principles in daily life.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • A heart for pastoral care and community engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, deacons, church leaders, and volunteers.

Pastor Responsibilities:

  • Preach and teach the word of God.
  • Provide spiritual leadership to the congregation.
  • Seek a God-given clear vision for the church, and be able to guide the church in strategic planning and vision implementation.
  • Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to church members in need.
  • Work with the deacon body in developing a partnership in church ministries, primarily to church members in areas of Pastoral care, prospect outreach, and personal evangelism.
  • Engage in community outreach and foster relationships with local organizations.
  • Act as ex officio member of all organizations and committees in connection with the church.
  • Schedule of office hours and days off to be posted on various platforms and adhered to as much as possible by both Church and Pastor.
  • Contact members, prospective members and visitors.
  • Perform wedding ceremonies and conduct funeral services.
  • Lead the church in cooperating with associational, state, and denominational leaders.  Keep the church informed of developments within the denomination.
