Part-Time Worship Leader/Worship Minister

First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, TN, is seeking a part-time Worship Leader/Worship Minister. FBC is a growing church seeking to incorporate a blended style of worship. This individual will oversee all aspects of the music ministry and report directly to the Lead Pastor.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a mature and growing Christian faith, reflecting the biblical qualifications for church leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
  • Affirms and lives in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • Possesses a genuine passion for worship and a desire to lead others in glorifying God through music.
  • Demonstrates musical proficiency, preferably with experience leading worship in a blended setting (choir directing and instrumentalists’ organization). Instrumental proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and develop volunteer musicians, vocalists, and choir members.
  • Ability to direct the choir and incorporate additional aspects of praise and worship.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A servant’s heart and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor, ensuring that music selections complement the sermon and encourage overall congregational worship.
  • Oversee all aspects of the music ministry, including but not limited to:
    • Selecting and arranging music
    • Leading choir and instrumental practice
    • Managing the music equipment
    • Coordinating with the tech team
      • Previous work with Proclaim Presentation Software is a plus!
  • Give direction to music/choir for preschool, children, and youth.
  • Developing and managing the music ministry budget
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and choir members, fostering a culture of spiritual growth and musical excellence.
  • Lead the congregation in worship, cultivating an atmosphere that is both reverent and engaging.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and other church staff to plan special music events and services (e.g., Christmas, Easter).
  • Maintain proper licensing agreements for all music used in worship services.
  • Serve as a spiritual leader and mentor for the worship team.
  • Attend church staff meetings and other relevant meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
