Primary Function:
The Worship Minister is responsible for shepherding God’s people in the specific area of worship in spirit and truth.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary worship leader at FBC, including leading rehearsals, and administrative responsibilities;
- Work alongside the Senior Pastor in developing the order of service for weekly services and ensure the services are carried out with excellence;
- Arrange and compose worship music as needed;
- Shepherd spiritually and direct musically all FBC Worship Team members;
- Administer the annual budget for music/audio/video needs;
- Vet the theological content of music and ensure worship music is Biblical;
- Supervise, Vision Cast, and lead the Production Team;
- Maintain the library of music and additions to;
- Lead the musicians and challenge them to lead with excellence;
- Raise up the next generation of worship leaders and musicians from within the church;
- Provide vision and supervision for any FBC Choirs;
- Oversee music-related licensing (Maintain and track all music licenses, fees, and memberships);
- Insert the order of service in Planning Center, and coordinate large-scale events with an attention to detail;
- Endeavor to stay abreast of developments in the field of music leadership;
- Be available during office hours to help with church needs that may arise.
Requirements/Giftings:
- Shepherd heart and a call to the gospel ministry;
- Skilled musician;
- Team building personality;
- Proficient in music software such as Music Stand, Song Select, Planning Center, etc.;
- Ability to incorporate various styles of music such as CCM, Traditional Hymns, Modern Hymns, Southern Gospel, Soul Gospel, Brooklyn Tab, FBA Worship, etc. with the goal being
- congregational worship in spirit and truth;
- Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to adapt to a vast array of personality types and spiritual depths;
- Personal integrity and confidentiality;
- Graduate degree in music ministry or enrolled in SBC Seminary, preferred;
- If married, the husband of one wife who also has demonstrated a love for the local church;
- A passion for members to walk with Jesus and to make disciples of all nations.
