Job Summary:
Cross Road Church in Wichita, KS is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as our Full-Time Kids Ministry Director. The ideal candidate will have a heart for kids’ ministry, a vision for engaging young minds with the gospel, and a desire to foster a fun, safe, Jesus-loving environment for children birth through 5th grade.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Enhance/create and implement age-appropriate programs, activities, and curriculum that engages kids in learning the Bible and develops their faith in Jesus.
Worship Services: Plan and oversee kids worship services and special events, ensuring they are age appropriate, engaging, fun, and biblically accurate.
Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring they are equipped and empowered to serve in kids ministry.
Family Engagement: Partner with parents/guardians to support their role in their kid’s spiritual growth, providing resources and opportunities for family involvement.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment for all kids, adhering to church policies and best practices for child safety.
Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with church leadership, volunteers, parents, and the church regarding kids ministry programs and needs.
Budget Management: Manage the kids ministry budget, ensuring responsible use of resources.
Qualifications:
Faith: A committed believer in Jesus with a strong personal faith and alignment with Cross Road’s beliefs and values.
Education: College degree in ministry, education, or a related field preferred but not required.
Experience: 3+ years leadership experience in kid’s ministry or a related field. Experience in a church of 500+ is ideal.
Skills: Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to relate to kids, parents, and volunteers of all ages. Creative and energetic approach to ministry.
Clearances: Background check and child abuse clearances required.
