Cool Springs Baptist
Meet Cool Springs: Since its founding in 1848 Cool Springs Baptist Church has strived to glorify God and spread the gospel locally and abroad. God has blessed us in recent years with a new sanctuary in 2012 and more importantly increased opportunities to minister through outreach programs such as VBS, “Beyond the Walls”, Block Parties, a recent focus on “pockets of lostness” in Sanford, “Two Tunics” for the homeless, and various regular mission trips. In addition, Cool Springs supports several foreign missionaries and programs in Thailand, Haiti, Guatemala, and the Caribbean. The current staff consists of our Associate Pastor Tim Burriss who served as our youth Pastor for 20 years before becoming our Associate Pastor in 2013, JD DeSpain as our Family Minister joined our staff in 2023, and Scott Hurdt who recently joined us as Music Minister in 2022. Moving forward we are excited about the growing opportunity to reach out to the many families moving to Sanford due to an explosion of recent growth in the area. We are seeking God’s will and direction for our position of senior pastor and how he will fit into that mission.
