Purpose
To love, glorify, and enjoy God by being and making disciples of Jesus Christ; through pastoral ministry and involvement in all areas of ministry within the life of Centerville Christian Fellowship (CCF).
Summary
The Church Planting Pastor would join the staff of CCF with the intent of being equipped and sent out within 18-24 months as the pastoral leader for a church plant or re-plant.
He would initially join the CCF staff with the title of Church Planting Resident. After appropriate time and consideration, and with the affirmation of CCF’s elders, the intention would be to transition the Church Planting Resident to the title Church Planting Pastor sometime before he plants. Concurrent with this transition, the new Church Planting Pastor would become an elder at CCF.
- His passion will be for gospel ministry among men and women in alignment with CCF’s philosophy and vision of ministry.
- He will have a heart for gospel-focused, family-based ministry that disciples men and women toward spiritual maturity.
- He will fulfill the biblical vision of leadership, integrity, and gospel humility as he invests heavily in the flock at CCF.
Qualifications
The Church Planting Pastor will manifest clear support for the leadership of the church pursuant to biblical unity.
The Church Planting Pastor needs to meet the spiritual and character qualifications of an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 and to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22. He should be wise, discerning, decisive, sensitive, tender, and firm. He should be a man of prayer and a man of the Word, sensitive to what the Spirit is saying to CCF. He should devote himself to daily prayer and Bible reading for the sake of guarding himself from sin and stirring up his heart and mind to renewed passion for Christ and should lead his family in regular times in the Word and prayer.
The Church Planting Pastor shall have at least a bachelor’s level of formal training or its equivalent and have experience in pastoral ministry.
