Youth Pastor – Middle School
Aim
The mission of Center Church is to lead people to a Jesus-centered life. In support of this mission, the aim of this role will be to lead Center Youth towards authentic Biblical community & to collaboratively resource the parents to disciple their children.
Responsibilities:
- Shepherd – Pastor the church along with other Staff, Elders, and Deacons
- Provide general ministry support as directed by the Lead Pastor
- Family Membership – Active participation in shepherding the congregation through the Family Membership pathway and commitments
- In addition to leading a Community Group, each Pastor will provide support, encouragement, and ongoing coaching to another Community Group
- Center Youth – Collaborate with the High School Youth Pastor to ensure that the culture, strategy, systems, programming, & volunteers are set up to lead students to a Jesus centered life ○ Act as the primary point leader for the Center Youth Middle School ministry (CYM). This will be done according to the priorities set out in the Relational Ministry Actions document
- Collaborate with the High School Youth Pastor to ensure the overall health, alignment, & integration between CYM & CYH
- Partner with parents to set them up to disciple their students at home towards an Up, In, & Out life modeled after Jesus
- Empower the CYM volunteer team to be true and meaningful partners with you as you lead middle school students to a Jesus Centered life
- Facilitate a smooth transition into CYM by being a visible shepherd to the families of Center Kids Elementary
Accountability:
- Reporting
- This role reports to the Associate Pastor of Groups & Family Ministries
- Meetings
- Bi-weekly one-on-one with Associate Pastor of Groups & Family Ministries
- Bi-weekly with the Youth Pod
- Bi-weekly All Staff meeting
- Miscellaneous meetings as needed for special initiatives
- Annual planning retreats as scheduled by Lead Pastor
- Expectations
- The supervisor and employee are to keep open communication with regard to the objectives and priorities of this role through the use of a Ministry Action Plan. The Youth Pastor is to maintain a working knowledge of church policies and procedures to ensure ministry operations are in alignment with Center Church’s standards.
Pastoral Requirements:
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Fulfills the biblical qualifications of a Pastor/Elder as detailed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4
- Commitment to the vision and goals of Center Church
- A Family Member of Center Church in good standing
Leadership Requirements:
- Interpersonal communication skills accompanied with a high emotional intelligence
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Highly relational leader who empowers others to engage with the church’s mission, vision, and values
- Ability to organize systems, events, and people around stated ministry goals
- Competent in Pro Presenter, G-suite, Canva, and Planning Center
Educational Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus in Christian ministries, Biblical study, or a related field
- A minimum of two years of experience in a leadership capacity of comparable responsibilities

- Ability to self-manage and initiate needed work to achieve objectives of Ministry Action Plan
- Must be able to adapt and work under the demands of an intense ministry environment
- Capacity to grow with the changing leadership demands of a developing church

- Proactive communication with Staff & Volunteers to ensure alignment
