Website Carver Road Baptist Church

Purpose:

The main role of the director of children is to lead children to Christ and disciple them to ensure they are growing spiritually. (For the purposes of this position, “children” would include all kids ages newborn to 12 years old or those who have completed fifth grade.)

Responsibilities:

  • Primary teacher Wednesday Bible Study and if ever needed Sunday night small groups
  • Recruit, train and motivate teams of leaders to implement ministry strategies for children
  • Project and manage an annual ministry budget
  • Build relationships and regularly communicate with families of children
  • Be available to meet with children and families to address specific needs and concerns as they arise and as opportunity allows
  • Aid children in connecting with the larger ministry of the church
  • Network with other area children pastors
  • Reach out to visitors and any missing children weekly
  • Plan and implement a visitation schedule which will be done by the children’s director, volunteers, and church staff
  • Plan and find sponsors for a summer camp and other trips as established by the pastor
  • Recruit teachers for SS, annually evaluate the curriculum, keeping abreast of new materials, procedures and methods in regards to curriculum and structure
  • Personally witness to children
  • Provide community-wide children activities to reach unsaved or unchurched children (at least 2 events per year)
  • Provide church-wide children activities (parties, fellowships, etc.) (once a month if possible)
  • Publicize and communicate children activities and ministry opportunities through Social Media, newsletter, fliers, mailouts, announcements, etc.
  • Develop and maintain an open relationship with all elementary schools
  • Be involved in the total church program
  • Be a regular attender, giver, and member of Carver Road Baptist

Qualifications:

  • Must have a proven and committed relationship with the Lord
  • Must be a baptized believer
  • Must demonstrate faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as listed in 1 Timothy 3
  • Must be doctrinally sound and abide by the Baptist Faith & Message (2000)
  • Must have a strong desire to serve God’s church
  • Must have an ability to develop healthy, thriving, interpersonal relationships with children, families, community members, church members and staff
  • Must be a team player and self-starter

Salary and Benefits:

$15,000 a year (paid weekly). PTO based on years of service at CRBC
