Job Description

The Baptist Student Union (The BSU) Staff Member is an exciting opportunity to invest 2 years into your vocation and spiritual development. BSU staff members can expect to build meaningful relationships with Truman students (Truman State University- public liberal arts university) and local southern baptist churches, grow in their faith, and be challenged by the various opportunities and responsibilities of the job. The BSU staff member position is fun and faced-paced. Candidates that are most qualified for the position demonstrate:

a love for Jesus and his Gospel
a passion for Truman students to know Jesus
a  high level of relational competency in both a secular and church setting
a positive self-motivated disposition
the ability to work well within a tight-knit team.
The BSU is a year long full-time ministry for college graduates.  BSU staff  work closely under the Campus Missionary of the BSU at Truman planning, preparing and executing vital ministry elements. BSU staff also invest a significant amount of time into relationship building and mentoring with Truman students.  Staff will learn the fundamentals of campus ministry supported by the local churches, the Missouri Baptist Convention, and alumni and friends of the BSU through training and practice. Duration of Staff member position: 2 years

Compensation:  100% dependent on fundraising.

Fundraising: Each BSU staff member is required to fundraise for this position.  The BSU Collegiate Team of the Missouri Baptist Convention will support and coach interns on how to fundraise, provide invaluable guidance and support, and connect all staff members to a large network of other collegiate ministry members across the state who are fundraising.

Travel:  BSU staff will lead or participate in student trips over Spring Break, along with staff, student leadership and retreat weekends throughout the school year and summer, all contingent on CDC guidelines.
