Campus Pastor – Highland

Primary Goals:

  • Campus Development & Growth: Oversee all aspects of campus ministry so that the location grows in healthy and impactful ways.
  • Congregational Discipleship & Care: Ensure that the discipleship ministries of the campus have a dynamic, spiritually transformative impact. Personally provide for many of the pastoral needs at the campus in a gracious, compassionate, hospitable, and life-giving way.
  • Community Impact: Lead the campus location to have effective gospel ministry into the surrounding community.

Responsibilities:

Campus Leadership

  • Regularly communicate a compelling vision for the campus that aligns with the mission and values of Bethel Church. Cultivate a culture at the campus that embodies the values of Bethel.
  • Serve as the primary leader for weekend worship services. Lead the campus staff and volunteer teams in providing dynamic and spiritually impactful weekend services.
  • Develop, motivate, and encourage volunteer teams toward the accomplishment of the campus vision and ministry objectives.
  • Provide direct leadership to the campus staff, campus elders, and deacons.

Preaching & Teaching

  • Preach at the campus location one or two times per month.
  • Teach/preach in various ministry settings at the campus and other church locations (as needed).

Staff Coordination & Management

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and spiritual care to the campus staff for day-to-day ministry needs.
  • Coordinate staff and other leaders to execute various events and ministries at the campus.
  • Facilitate creative thinking/brainstorming that will lead to new ministry efforts and refine current initiatives for more effective growth.

Shepherding & Discipleship

  • Oversee all discipleship efforts at the campus. This includes specialized ministries for men, women, kids, students, young adults, local outreach, etc.
  • Provide leadership to various connections efforts, including guest identification, follow-up, and membership processes.
  • Establish and maintain pathways for people to discover, develop, and use their spiritual gifts/skills in ministry.
  • Pursue relationships with congregants to encourage their spiritual walk. Prioritize connecting with newcomers and key leaders/volunteers in the congregation.

Outreach & Evangelism

  • Promote a culture where people are burdened for the lost and the needs of their communities.
  • Oversee outreach efforts to present the gospel and introduce Bethel Church to the community.
  • Work to resource, equip, and inspire individuals to be bold ambassadors of the gospel.
  • Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the surrounding community.

Congregational Care

  • Oversee pastoral care efforts at the campus, including hospital visits and counseling.
  • Demonstrate compassion by personally providing care and spiritual help to those in need.
  • Perform weddings and funerals as needed.

General Pastoral Duties

  • Uphold the ministry in prayer. Lead others in regularly praying for the congregation and the needs of the campus.
  • Participate in all required events and activities for Bethel Church staff, such as Sunday services (including major holidays), staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, continuing education events, training opportunities, etc.
  • Oversee the budgets and fiscal management of responsible ministries.
  • Be a source of unity for the staff, campus, and church at large.
  • Other responsibilities may be added as new ministry needs arise and personal gifting develops.
