DESCRIPTION:Spurgeon Athletics and Student Life are hosting Spirit Week leading up to the Men’s Basketball home game Saturday\, November 5! \nEach day will have a theme and a winner will be selected to receive a prize for each day. Each of the winners will be invited back to compete during our halftime show of the basketball game. To enter to win\, students must tag Spurgeon Knights and Spurgeon College on social media. \n  \nMonday: Halloween Day: dress up in your best costume. \nTuesday: Support your Squad Day: wear your favorite team gear. \nWednesday: Anything But a Backpack Day: find a replacement for your backpack\, like a bucket or wheelbarrow. \nThursday: Twin Day: match with a friend! \nFriday: Knights Day: show your Knights spirit! \nSaturday: Game Day! Come out and support the Spurgeon College Knights Basketball Team. There will be fun halftime games and free popcorn for all who participated in Spirit Week. There will be fun and food\, including fair rides\, donuts and kettle corn\, turkey legs\, a pie eating contest\, hayride\, a petting zoo\, pony wheel\, carnival games\, face painters\, a photo booth\, a costume competition\, fireworks to end the night\, and more! The whole family is invited\, and admission is free. \nFor those participating in the costume contest\, SLE will award prizes in the following five categories: \n1. Kids (0-11) – $20 Amazon gift card \n2. Teens (12-18) – $20 Amazon gift card \n3. College students/singles (18+) – $20 Amazon gift card \n4. Families – $50 Amazon gift card \n5. Best Overall – $100 Amazon gift card \nIf you would like to participate in the pie eating contest\, when you arrive on Friday make sure you get a raffle ticket at the Pie Eating Contest stage area (in front of the Library doors). At the SBC Annual Meeting in Anaheim\, California\, June 14-15\, 2022\, Bart was elected President of the Southern Baptist Convention. A native of Lake City\, Arkansas\, Bart has served churches in Arkansas\, Oklahoma\, and Texas. He has earned degrees from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary\, culminating in a PhD in Church History. He is married to Tracy Brady Barber. Together they have two children\, Jim and Sarah.
