How do I view my current charges?

You have access to your account information on the Student Portal under the “My Billing” tab which shows tuition amounts billed and paid, scholarships posted to your account, bookstore charges, and housing costs.

How can I view charges from previous semesters?

In the top left-hand corner of the student portal you can change semesters. Once you select your desired semester please refer to the “My Billing” tab.

Where will my statement be mailed?

Statements are no longer mailed out. All charges and payments are posted to your billing ledger. You can access an invoice in the Student Portal under the “My Billing” tab or by emailing sfs@mbts.edu.

How do I sign up for a payment plan?

The Seminary has contracted with Nelnet Business Solutions to provide a monthly payment option to its students. You can access Nelnet through your student portal. Under the “My Billing” tab, there is an option to make a payment on the right side of the page.

What is my student ID?

Your student ID can be found in the top left-hand corner of the student portal underneath your name. Please reference your student ID on all correspondence with Financial Services office.

Will there be any extra fees if I call the finance office to make a payment?

A 2.5% fee will be assessed to all credit and debit card transactions.

What address should I use to mail a payment?

Please allow at least 7-10 days if mailing payments. Please note your Student ID on all checks.

How do I make a payment if I am an international student?

Midwestern has partnered with Flywire (provided by peerTransfer) to streamline the process of international payments. Flywire allows you to pay securely from any country and any bank, generally in your home currency. If you need further assistance click here for help.

Will my Nelnet balance automatically be adjusted if there is a change in my MBTS account?

Yes, once a payment plan is established by the student it will directly link to your student account. If charges are added or removed, your payment plan will be automatically updated to reflect those changes.

How do I request a refund?

To receive a refund, you need to fill out a refund request form. The form can be found in the forms sections of the financial resources tab.

How can I locate my 1098-T?

Your 1098-T will not be mailed. Your 1098-T has been uploaded to your student portal. You can find it in the Document Tracking section. Be sure to check the box that is labeled “Include Completed Items?” at the top of the document list. Give the page a second or two to auto refresh and it will appear in the list. There is a screenshot below for your convenience.

What do I need to do if I have received a scholarship from an outside organization, but the check will not arrive until after the due date?

Your account balance must have a satisfactory payment arrangement by the posted due date. We suggest that students pay their due balance and request a refund when the scholarship is received.

What do I need to do if I need aid, but it is not posted as pending prior to a tuition due date?

Your account balance must have a satisfactory payment arrangement by the posted due date. We suggest that students pay their due balance and request a refund when the aid has been posted as pending.

What is considered a satisfactory payment arrangement?

  1. Payment in Full
  2. A payment plan with Nelnet that covers the full amount due.
  3. Financial aid that is shown as pending for the full amount due.
