Sanghwan Lee is assistant professor of biblical studies, Korean Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His passion for investigating the Scripture in light of its historical and cultural background informs his diverse research interests, which include high Christology of New Testament, mythologies of Ancient Near Eastern and Greco-Roman texts, Enochic traditions, and intertextuality.
Lee earned his STM in New Testament from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2017. He also holds a M.Div. from Southwestern Seminary and a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Dallas Baptist University.
Lee has published numerous articles in prestigious journals such as The Journal of Theological Studies, Novum Testamentum, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Biblica, Journal of Ancient Judaism, Journal for the Study of the Old Testament, and Journal for the Study of the New Testament, among others. Additionally, he has authored several books in Korean.
Lee is married to Yookyung, and together they have three children.
