Dr. Chang-Hyun Oh

Dr. Chang-Hyun Oh currently serves as a Regional Coordinator of Korean at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min. in Care & Counseling) and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Midwestern. To study the relationship between the church and the community, he obtained a Master of Theology (Th.M.) in Christian Sociology from Soongsil University in Korea and a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Hanil University & Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Realizing the importance of pastoral counseling in church ministry, he pursued a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling and taught Biblical Communication for three years at the Counseling and Ministry Academy ‘JeSang.’ Currently, he serves as an expert advisor for ‘The Psychology Times,’ a psychology-focused online newspaper in Korea, and as a professor at the ‘Korea HRD Development Institute,’ a counseling education institution. Dr. Oh integrates musical performance arts with education to conduct age-specific specialized cultural arts education and serves as the representative of ‘Art Company Duru,’ a musical production organization. He strives to effectively spread the gospel through theater and musicals and works to restore families in the community by merging cultural arts and education.

Dr. Oh resides in Korea with his wife, Jung-Hwan, and their three children: Elim, Urim, and Haneum.

He developed a 12-week Biblical Communication Program to activate koinonia in churches and small communities and is currently writing a book titled “Understanding the Heart and Heart-to-Heart Dialogue.”

Dr. Oh also serves as the senior pastor of Hansomang David Church in Korea.
