Ready Youth Conference
Amidst a culture shifting like the tide, it is imperative that students are ready to defend “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3). So mark your calendars for Ready, a youth conference held in Kansas City, MO on January 25-26, 2019. This conference features the following guest speakers: Sam Bierig, Brian Davis, Rechab Gray, Owen Strachan, and Jared C. Wilson.
An additional concert with nobigdyl. will be held on January 25. Concert tickets are included in conference registration or can be purchased separately.
Dean, Spurgeon College
Kansas City, MO
Samuel Bierig serves as the undergraduate dean and as Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at Spurgeon College. He also serves as an elder at Liberty Baptist Church. Sam is pursuing his Ph.D. in Theology at Midwestern Seminary and holds degrees from Southern Seminary, and Ouachita Baptist University.
Director of The Residency Ph.D. Program, Director of the Center for Public Theology, and Associate Professor of Christian Theology, Midwestern Seminary
Kansas City, MO
Dr. Owen Strachan is Associate Professor of Christian Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. At MBTS, he leads the Center for Public Theology. Strachan is the author of numerous books, including Risky Gospel and The Colson Way. He holds a PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, an MDiv from Southern Seminary, and an AB from Bowdoin College. He is married to Bethany and is the father of three children. He enjoys basketball, rap, and biographies.
Pastor, Risen Christ Fellowship
Brian Davis is a pastor at Risen Christ Fellowship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a church planting internship at Imago Dei Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Brian and his wife, Sonia, have two sons and a daughter.
Jared C. Wilson
Managing Editor of For The Church (ftc.co), Content Director, Midwestern Seminary, Author, and Speaker
Kansas City, MO
Jared C. Wilson is the Director of Content Strategy for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Managing Editor of For The Church (and host of the FTC Podcast), and Director of The Pastoral Training Center at Liberty Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO.
Jared is not a catalytic “agent of change” or a visionary anything. He is a failed church planter and once made a mess of his marriage. He likes food too much and worries way too much about what people think, and he’s definitely not all that he’s cracked up to be. After 20 years of ministry, he’s mainly learned that he’s kind of a nincompoop. But he knows Jesus loves him.
Teaching Pastor, Cottage Grove Church
Des Moines, IA
Rechab Gray serves as Teaching Pastor at Cottage Grove Church in Des Moines, Iowa. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served on staff at Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia as a church plant resident–serving the church through preaching, block evangelism, and international missions. Rechab has been married to his wife for eight years and they have two children, Aaron and Zipporah.
