IA Office Assistant

Part-time

Overview

The IA Office Assistant is an important part of the IA team, assisting the VP of Institutional Advancement and IA Executive Secretary reach the goals of the IA Office by tracking alumni, recording donations and maintaining donor records, assisting in the planning and execution of events, maintaining records of office expenses, handling phone calls and e-mail correspondence with donors, alumni, and Regents, and fulfilling any other task set forth by the VP or Executive Secretary. This is a part-time position of 30-35 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Phone work:

                  1.      Answer phones; provide requested information

                  2.      Call alumni and/or donors for research or event attendance

  • Address changes in CAMS from the Midwestern Magazine, other IA mailing pieces that are returned, and changes received from donors
  • Correspondence

                  1.      donation thank you’s (mail merge, clean-up, get signature, make copies, mail)

                  2.      send cards (birthday, anniversary, sympathy, etc.)

                  3.      send notes of appreciation and thank you’s when needed

  • CAMS donor file information—correct and clean-up errors/inconsistencies, incomplete and/or incorrect information
  • Donations—process checks and input into CAMS
  • Office expenses—track, record, and file; reconcile VP’s credit card statement
  • Reports: CAMS and Excel--create, clean-up, update information:

                  1.      Cabinet Meeting weekly income report

                  2.      IA & Business Office monthly income comparison report

  • Special Events—plan and participate with other IA staff (help with the preparation, set-up and clean-up, hosting, and follow-up aspects)
  • Record responses from mailings, events, etc.—add to Excel charts
  • Filing; making new donor files when needed
  • Office supplies--order when needed; re-stock and re-shelve supplies; keep file room organized and picked up
  • Performing other miscellaneous tasks when needed (for example, deliver mailing supplies to the mailing house; drop off mailings at post office)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1.      A Christian with high integrity who is actively pursuing a relationship with Christ in a local church body that is involved with Great Commission work.

2.      Computer skills including Microsoft Office Software (frequent use of Word, Excel, & Publisher)

3.      Ability to present one’s self and represent the Seminary in a professional manner

4.      Ability to write well with correct spelling and grammar

 

                 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

1.      Knowledge of basic business software

2.      Prior experience in an office setting

Main Campus Maintenance Assistant

Part-time

Overview

The MBTS Campus Operations Department is seeking a main campus maintenance employee, who will be responsible for maintaining the electrical, mechanical and structural aspects of all buildings on campus, excluding the housing area. This is a student position, and will be a part time, temporary (seasonal) position where the successful applicant will work 35-40 hours weekly.  To apply please drop by the Human Resources office for an application.  For more information, e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call (816) 414-3708.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the maintenance assistant include: installation and repair in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.   Additional responsibilities include working in the areas of safety, parts acquisition, structural maintenance, and preventive maintenance.  This person will work in a team and report to the Main Campus Maintenance Supervisor.

The maintenance assistant will need to have the ability to interpret work order requests, equipment operating characteristics, and equipment manuals to effectively diagnose equipment problems.  Having Certification per Clean Air Act (E.P.A. Section 608) Type 1 and 2 is an advantage, but is not required for this position.

This can be a fast-paced environment and being a person who works well to accomplish multiple tasks is vital.  This person should also be comfortable working with occasional deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualifications needed to attain this position include:

-- Valid driver’s license
-- Ability to read, analyze and interpret software and hardware instructions
-- Have the ability to use common office productivity and maintenance software
-- Ability to work in extreme temperature and weather conditions
-- Ability to read, analyze and interpret blue prints, schematics, professional journals, technical bulletins, National Electric Codes and local government codes and regulations
-- Recommended two or more years of related experience in the field of maintenance
-- Physically the employee should have the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and the ability to reach with arms and hands.  The employee is occasionally required to work from ladders and scaffolding more than 20 feet above the ground and to crawl under equipment and buildings.  The employee must be able to lift 75 to 100 pounds.
