KANSAS CITY ROYALS DAY IN CHAPEL – April 27

Come join in on all the fun and an intriguing look at Christianity in the world of professional sports.  MBTS will host representatives from the Kansas City Royals baseball organization during the chapel service at 10 a.m. on April 27 in the auditorium.

Bring your Royals gear for autographs; and all children, 18 and under, will receive a baseball!  There will also be numerous souvenirs like jerseys, t-shirts and more given away, but you must be present to have a chance!  Additionally, you won’t want to miss the grand prize drawings of Royals gift cards to spend as you see fit!  This year’s Royals slogan is “It all happens here.” They couldn’t have said it better for this great chapel service!

Looking for some fun at the ballpark this spring?  Well, MBTS’s Student Development Office has put together a Midwestern Seminary Night at “The K” on May 14 at 7:10 p.m. against the division rival Chicago White Sox in Kauffman Stadium.  Tickets are $10 each. For more details on availability, contact Amy Gilmore at agilmore@mbts.edu or (816) 414-3735.

Transportation and meals are up to the student. Participants will be trained in using the “3 Minute Story” evangelism strategy. For more information, contact Dr. Rodney Harrison at rharrison@mbts.edu.

CHAPEL CONSTRUCTION WEBCAM - If you would like to keep up with the construction progress of the new MBTS chapel complex, it is now possible via a construction webcam.  The webcam updates every three seconds, so you will receive up-to-the-second pictures!  Anyone can view the construction area from the seminary’s website www.mbts.edu homepage, then click on the Chapel Construction Update Button or the scrolling construction banner as it appears. This will take you to the Chapel Construction Update page where there will be information about prayer needs for the project and summer team leader comments for volunteers.  One other location of the webcam is on the MBTS Intranet site.  Check it out!

SBA ELECTIONS -Midwestern’s Student Body Association elections will be held before and after chapel on April 28 and 29. Positions to be voted for include president and first vice president, second vice president, men’s student representative and women’s student representative.

EVANGELISM RESPONSE CENTER - Would you like to share the gospel and minister to people across North America without even leaving your own home? The Evangelism Response Center (ERC) is part of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. It exists to share the Gospel and pray with people over the telephone and Internet. Respondents contact the ERC by phone and Internet after seeing the ERC telephone numbers and Internet addresses on TV ads and programs, radio ads and programs, tracts, print ads, articles, and billboards, etc. The ERC provides a network of volunteers throughout North America who have been trained to communicate the message of Jesus Christ to people by telephone and internet. These Telephone Encouragers and Internet Encouragers make up a new and exciting category of Southern Baptist missions volunteers. You can now share the Gospel with receptive people from all over the United States and Canada from the comfort, safety, and privacy of your own home!  For more information, please contact Allen Reger at 816-365-8108 or by e-mail at allenreger@gmail.com.

PULPIT SUPPLY - Fully admitted students and alumni are eligible to participate in our Pulpit Supply program. Local churches often need someone to fill the pulpit, and many students relish the opportunity to gain experience and to preach to a congregation. Midwestern works to connect local churches with students who are interested and eligible. Students may sign up for the program in the Student Development office. If you are a church seeking an individual to fill a pulpit, please contact Amy Gilmore at agilmore@mbts.edu or 816-414-3735.
