Johnny Hunt headlines MBTS Pastor’s Conference on April 13
posted on Apr 07, 2010 by StaffAs part of a series of conferences and workshops during the Spring Semester, Midwestern will host the C.H. Spurgeon Pastoral Leadership Conference on April 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the chapel auditorium.
According to MBTS leaders, the signature event of the conference will be the message brought by Dr. Johnny Hunt, SBC President and senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Ga. During the 10 a.m. chapel service, he will be speaking on a topic related to the meeting’s theme – Leadership: The Indispensable Characteristic of a Pastor. Additionally, the workshop will culminate with a session of Q & A and discussion with Dr. Hunt. This special time, beginning at 1:15 p.m., will include information on the Great Commission Resurgence report.
Also included in the day’s events will be a number of breakout sessions led by local and regional pastors including Kenny Qualls from FBC Arnold, Mo., Dan Southerland from Westside Community Church in Lenexa, Kan., Gene Austin, the BSU Director at Truman State University, and many others. Topics to be presented in the breakout sessions include, Things I Never Learned in Seminary about Serving on a Pastor’s Staff, Seven Steps to becoming a Healthy Leader, Leading your Church to have a Heart for Missions, and Raising Up Lay Leaders: Leadership Training to name a few.
The Pastor's Conference is open to the public and FREE of charge. The course is available for academic credit, counting as one credit hour and the charge is $50. First-time students to Midwestern may take the class for academic credit FREE of charge.
