We’re offering more courses this summer than ever before to keep your education in motion. Summer classes at Midwestern Seminary & College are a great way to finish more quickly and get on the field sooner. Don’t coast on the break; advance your training.

Flexible Formats

Summer On-Campus Intensives
May 7 – August 17
One-week intensives meet from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. including additional coursework due in the weeks after the class meets on campus.
 
Summer Terms Online
May 7 – June 28  | June 25 – August 16
Two eight-week terms that overlap.

Biblical Communication and Preaching / Sermon Preparation

A course introducing the fundamentals of communications with special emphasis on the task of doctrinal and expository preaching.

Theology I / Christian Doctrine I

Dr. Matthew Barrett
An introduction to the foundations of Christian theology. The nature of theology, its methods, and its sources are discussed and assessed. Special attention is given to the doctrines of revelation, Scripture, and God.

Crossover Dallas Evangelism Class

June 3-11 | Dallas, Texas | Dr. Tom Johnston
Room and board in Dallas, TX is covered by NAMB. Includes travel to and from Dallas with additional class time and evangelism outreaches while in Dallas, June 3-11. Cost is $100 + tuition + all meals. Book your place early as space is limited. Students can take either Personal Evangelism & Discipleship or Evangelism Practicum. For more information, contact Dr. Tom Johnston. Please register with the Registrar’s Office by April 1.

SBC and the Church

June 10-13 | Dallas, Texas | Drs. Jason Allen and Jason Duesing
Pre-coursework begins May 14. Attendance at SBC Pastor's Conference and Convention in Dallas, TX, from June 10-13, is required. Students can take either SBC and the Church elective or Baptist History/The Church. See syllabus for assignments. Post-coursework ends July 2. United Kingdom
Study Tour

July 9-25 | United Kingdom | Midwestern students will be joining students and faculty from Southwestern and Southeastern seminaries as they experience the sights and sounds of historic Britain. Learn about the Reformers, Baptists, CS Lewis, CH Spurgeon, British Preachers, and Modern Missions as you study theology, experience church history, and engage in evangelism. Cost is $4,200 which includes travel, accommodation, meals, and tuition. Students can take up to 6hrs from the Church History Study Tour elective, History of Christianity II/Church History II, Baptist History/The Church, or Leadership Practicum.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

August 1-7 | Sturgis, South Dakota | Dr. David Sundeen
This 3-hour course requires four or more days of evangelism work at the NAMB/LifeWay/Dakota Baptist Convention evangelism event on August 1-7. Students can take either Personal Evangelism & Discipleship or Evangelism Practicum. Pre-course work begins June 25, post-course work ends August 16. For more information, contact Dr. David Sundeen.
