Dear Visitor:

The call to ministry includes a longing to excel in Christian virtue — to set an example for others in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and the other fruits of the Spirit. The called person demonstrates exceptional concern for holiness, as the Bible defines it. No amount of knowledge or skill can replace this basic commitment to discipleship. At the same time, however, the call to ministry – or to new kinds of ministry – usually brings fresh concerns to mind, including, “I’m not ready for this,” “I don’t know enough,” and finally, “Where can I go for help?”

For most of us, the answer to our last question needs to be, “Other people,” and here is where a school like Midwestern Baptist College comes in. MBC-SBC does what seminaries do, yet on an introductory level, offering specialized preparation for the next generation of Christian servants. If you have a high school diploma and are looking forward to a lifetime of ministry, we can be your first step toward a complete, theological education. If you are older and have been serving for years, our faculty can help you do what you do even better. Our courses will prepare you for what lies ahead in ministry, even (or perhaps especially) for the challenges that you don’t now expect.

Our College provides instruction for Christian workers at the undergraduate level, offering several degree-programs to meet each student’s particular needs. Future pastors, Christian educators, and ministry staff workers will find courses of study to get them started and sharpen existing talents. At MBC-SBC, the student can lay a foundation for more advanced Biblical study and even become qualified for missionary aviation! All of our undergraduate programs are fully recognized by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and are thus fully transferable to reputable colleges and universities.

MBC-SBC was established as a ministry of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in fulfillment of the latter’s overall mission. We seek to equip Christian workers at all levels, from Ph.D. students to undergraduates, and everything in between. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, that Jesus the Son is the only Savior, and that all of us have a role to play in serving Him as Lord. As an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. In other words, we stand with you; and we hope, therefore, that you will consider allowing us to prepare you for a lifetime of ministry, wherever God sends you and whatever he calls you to do.

Please come by to see us sometime. MBC-SBC is situated on a beautiful, 200-acre campus, about 10 miles north of Kansas City, Mo. We would be glad to give you a campus tour, introduce you to our faculty, and have you join us in a few classes.
