Advanced Standing Masters Program

Why repeat yourself?

Students applying for a master’s degree at Midwestern Seminary who have previously completed Bible or Theology courses at the undergraduate level could reduce their degree time by one-third.

What is Advanced Standing?

Advanced Standing is granted when master’s degree applicants have successfully completed undergraduate courses that would in effect be repeated in their graduate course requirements. Qualified applicants receive advanced standing in their graduate degree program. Credits are not received for these undergraduate courses; however, the number of credit hours required for the applicant’s master’s degree can be reduced.

How do I Qualify?

  • Advanced standing is awarded on a course-by-course basis.
  • Applicants must have received a grade of B or higher in the undergraduate course completed.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in their undergraduate study or a 3.0 or higher in their last 60 hours of undergraduate work.
  • Up to one-third of degree program requirements can be satisfied through Advanced Standing
