The people of God made a vast difference at Midwestern during the 2008-2009 academic year. So far this year thirteen church, associational and state convention volunteer groups have been to Midwestern volunteering their summer vacations to paint campus apartments; and in landscaping and repainting of storage sheds near Midwestern’s Vivion Farm House. In addition, many more invested their time, talent or treasure at Midwestern.
Midwestern is grateful to each group and individual, who in their own unique way invested in Kingdom work through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ministry opportunities are enormous here at Midwestern, from volunteering summer vacations to painting campus apartments; from sponsoring the renovation of buildings and rooms to giving special gifts that enable Midwestern to meet expanding needs. All of these opportunities assist to reach the following mission: “Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary serves the church by biblically educating God-called men and women to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ."
Would you pray how God would lead you to contribute to Midwestern and see where His Spirit leads you? The following are some of the ways you can help the cause of Christ at Midwestern:
As with all monetary contributions, gifts can be designated for particular areas. Monetary gifts can be given in a number of ways, such as:
Our enrollment has surged in the past three years to an all-time high. More and more undergraduates and graduates want to live on an attractive campus, and the demand for campus housing has far exceeded our ability to accommodate it. We are confident that the Building for the Future! Campaign is preparing a solid foundation toward that goal and look that every one wants for Midwestern. The Midwestern Seminary Capital Campaign “Building for the Future!” is currently focused on renovating the classroom building and the construction of new student housing. Our next projects include the construction of a 650 seat chapel followed by the renovation of our library. We have entered an era of extraordinary possibilities for Midwestern please join us by giving to our Capital Campaign.
The Annual Fund continues to be one of Midwestern’s greatest needs. The Annual Fund supports the operating budget of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. This fund subsidizes student tuition, housing, services and maintenance of the seminary. Contributions to the Annual Fund help the seminary’s bottom-line budget in many areas. The Annual Fund assists us in keeping the cost of Theological Education manageable to students. Monthly pledges as well as one-time gifts are greatly appreciated. It serves as the most effective way to help a student because every dollar to the annual fund is a dollar toward a student’s overall education costs, keeping tuition as low as possible.
Although Midwestern is one of the most affordable values in theological education today, scholarships can be established in the name of a loved one or yourself to help a seminary student pay for his/her biblical training. Whether your passion is for church music or international church planting, scholarships could be provided for students in these areas.
Each year, groups from around the country converge on Midwestern to help renovate, repair, and otherwise improve the seminary campus. Youth groups and building teams regularly plan summer trips to Kansas City to work on service projects at Midwestern. Volunteering allows Christians to donate their time and talents to the Kingdom of God through Midwestern Seminary in a tangible way as well as gaining exposure to the seminary community. Whether it’s one of these five ways, or through a different means God has laid upon your heart, Midwestern welcomes your contribution — large or small — as the seminary seeks to train the next generation of pastors and missionaries.
