The program will equip you to serve in ministry through rigorous academic training.

Why study in THE ACCELERATE PROGRAM?

We’re serious about training leaders for the kingdom. That’s why we created the Accelerate Program. What if you could earn your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in only five years of intense study? How could God use you? Whether your calling is to Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Counseling, Missions, Christian Education, or another ministry, there is an Accelerate degree track to equip you for a lifetime of ministry. This innovative residential or online program combines rigorous academic study with practical ministry preparation resulting in one of the most effective programs around.

ACCELERATE TRACKS

The Accelerate Program offers several degree tracks so that students can fulfill their calling, wherever the Lord has called them.

The MDiv track allows students to earn their Bachelor of Arts with a variety of potential majors and their MDiv in just five years. For their first two years in the program, MDiv track students will participate in cohort classes, ministry meals, and writer shops, and engage in discipleship with the program director and others to enhance their academic skills, gain ministry competency, and grow in their walk with Christ.

The Accelerate MDiv offers these degree options (bachelor’s + master’s):

The Accelerate Missions track allows students to earn their BA, Intercultural Studies, and MDiv, International Church Planting in just five years. Missions track students have the option of applying and participating in the Fusion program which involves intensive missions training and international mission field experience.

The Accelerate Missions track offers these degree options (bachelor’s + master’s):

The Accelerate Biblical Counseling track allows students to earn their Bachelor of Arts in either Christian Ministry or Biblical Studies and MA, in Biblical Counseling in as little as four and a half years. Completion of the MABC includes requirements necessary for ACBC Certification.

How does the program work?

The Accelerate Program allows students the ability to complete two degrees in five years by utilizing graduate-level coursework to fulfill certain undergraduate requirements. Explore more about the program below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students interested in the Accelerate program must apply to Spurgeon College and then submit an application for the Accelerate program. The Accelerate program requires a cumulative 3.0 GPA and written two-page essay.

The Accelerate program follows the same tuition and fees schedule as our other programs. Therefore, you can expect to pay regular tuition costs throughout the program. Completing the Accelerate program can save students more than $20,000 in education expenses if they complete a traditional four-year degree and then begin their master’s program.

Accelerate is led by Taylor DiRoberto, Assistant Dean of Spurgeon College, Director of Accelerate, and Assistant Professor of Christian Studies.

As Assistant Dean, DiRoberto oversees Spurgeon College’s residential cohort system focused on enhanced discipleship and intentional community. As Director of Accelerate, DiRoberto directly oversees Spurgeon & Midwestern’s 5-year dual degree programs. As a local church pastor, DiRoberto has served as an Associate Pastor, Lead Church Planter, and Elder. He currently serves as one of the elders at Northside Fellowship in Kansas City, MO.

Having earned a B.A. in Religious Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and a M.Div. from Midwestern Seminary, DiRoberto is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (Old Testament) at Midwestern.

Taylor is happily married to Sara, and they have two daughters.
