BAPTIST FAITH & MESSAGE
Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is an integrated auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention. Owned and operated by Southern Baptists, it is governed by a board of 35 trustees, seven of whom are elected annually during the Southern Baptist Convention.
The trustees of Midwestern, upon the founding of the seminary in 1957, adopted as the seminary statement of faith the Statement of Baptist Faith and Message which was adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1925. A revised Baptist Faith and Message statement was adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1963. Since its revision in 2000, Midwestern Seminary affirmed that statement which now constitutes the seminary's statement of faith.
